GPU:Duel GTX 760s
CPU: I7-4820K @3.70GHZ
8GB ram
Win 8.1
Running at 1920x1080P 50hz

Delux

Yes I DLed the delux patch.

None of my old saves will load (all are from 1.1.0.3) , have not yet created a new save to see if it is still valid post 1.1.0.4, but will let you know as soon as I get the chance.

Is it the same message "Error during savegame related operation" ?
Happening right after you start loading a savegame, before the progress bar start moving ?

I would need one of those savefiles (located in the game's installation folder, save sub-folder) to check it has to do with the loading operation and not the saving.

Just to be sure: 1.0 savegames aren't compatible with 1.1x, but 1.1x are compatible between themselves. And, more importantly, you must have same mod loadout between the moment you save and the moment you load a savegame.

I only just got the game maybe a week ago, so none of my saves are prior to 1.1x
it is giving me the "Error during savegame related operation"
The game will move to the loading screen, will last 2-3 seconds, screen flashes blacking out everything but the center 'loading game' box, the version number at the bottom center, which reads 1.1.0.4, and then the error box which was previously stated.

I have no issue getting you a save, but am unsure of how to go about it, just let me know and I will pop one over to you ASAP

Sure,

Saves are located in the saves folder inside your game's folder. If you don't remember where it has been installed, it should be located in
C:\Games\Unending Galaxy\saves\

Go to File Dropper
- Click the green upload button
- Look for the game folder as described above
- Select one of the savegames (save0 to save9.ugz are standard slots, save99.ugz and save98.ugz are quicksaves).
- Wait for the upload to finish
- Copy paste the link they give you here

Thanks, I'll check it out today. I don't think the problem comes from the save itself, but i'd rather be sure.

one thing i should add is I did not have any mods, that I added or changed... whatever was in the mod folder upon download is in the mod folder now.

on a side note, love the game. I have been searching for a game like this for a long time. Starting out as a broke ship captain with barely a ship and some credits to his name, some time later I now command a mighty empire shutting down the might of the federation... Plus the random generated maps, the ability to actually play as a pirate, etc etc... love your work, and hope to see your success in this genre.

P.S. I searched your game out on steam first, and was uber surprised it was not there already... I sincerely hope it gets onto steam... maybe it would show some of those other DeVs how this stuff is done...

I put another patch online. It should fix the problem you were having with the savegames. Incidentally it also fixes a couple of other problems and add new graphical settings.

The game has been greenlit by the community, meaning it will be made available on Steam soon. I am mostly waiting for the legal paperwork to clear up and for the game to be more or less bug free (at least nothing as bad as this savegame issue). Those who bought the game on itch.io or IGS will get a steam key on release.
